Alert! Races in High Park Sat 14 & Sun 15 could mean even bigger crowds

Looks like this weekend High Park will be full of activity! For anyone planning on heading out to see the Sakura // Cherry Blossoms, be aware that there will be 2 races run through the park. This means alot more people will be in the park to add to the already huge crowds that come out to the park for viewing the Sakura // Cherry Blossoms.

Spring into action

Saturday, April 14th, Spring into Action race begins at 9:30 am and on Sunday, April 15th, Hustle for Hunger race begins at 10:30 am. Both races should wrap up into the early-mid afternoon each day but you can be sure that parking and traffic in and around High Park will be even more congested with both runners & eager cherry blossom viewers!

What are your best options? If you can make out later this week during the weekday, you may be able to avoid the crowds of the weekend. You'll probably have a better experience without the crowds and also have less impact on the sensitive eco-system in the park.

If you really want to come out during the weekend, then waiting until the mid-late afternoons of both Sat or Sun might help make parking less of a challenge though why not try to plan a carpool, take TTC or bike & walk down to High Park.

More updates on the Sakura // Cherry Blossoms will also be posted later today.
